Google Breaks Small Businesses with Penguin Update
It’s been a very dull week for many small businesses on Google’s Search Engine, as you may be aware Google has introduced yet another update to fight web spam though many believe they have gone too far and have wiped some really good honest small business sites of the face of the planet. Matt Cutts who happens to be one of the Top Dogs at Google for search engine index updates and SEO changes warned everyone about the update of which the majority of users favored this changed, but soon changed their vibe after they seen that GOOD honest sites had been affected.
What’s funnier is that many affected sites are those who have used the Google Books and Guides to optimize their sites, yet they are the ones being hit. This issue has been addressed by some really big media sites such as theregister.co.uk

Google Please Kill Your Penguin Update
The Big Dilemma
It’s always been a dilemma about the fact that people can actually spam your web address all over the net so that your site gets penalized for its action, that’s why Google for many years have just ignored links rather than actually hurting their rankings, but this seems to be changing with Googles Spam Report Tool
It seems crazy that people can report your site if they feel you are spamming links and other things, the only people who are going to report you are other webmasters and in 99% of the time they are going to be your competition, Google has solved one problem but opened a new can of worms for abuse, it’s going to be a lot easier for people / bots to destroy your rankings yet Google have stated this is not the case, but what about the small guys with new businesses? Surely they can be a easy target, Google fails to comment on a lot of their questions at present and the only thing the small people can do is wait to see how this change affects everyone over a longer period.
One thing is certain that Google is a business after to get as much money as they possibly can; they want more small businesses to use Google Ad words which for some businesses especially the web design business can be very expensive indeed.
